As someone who struggles with ADHD, long term goals are nearly impossible for me to commit to. Not because I don’t “want to” but because my brain will often just try to ignore it or say “no” when I think about it. It’s tough when you don’t have someone to constantly remind you.

I struggle with ADHD as well and I can totally understand that. When my mind says "no," I think of my long-term goals to regain focus. It may help that being autistic I can be very strict on myself to follow a routine and it may make focusing on the long-term easier at times.

But I do truly think that reminding myself of my goals and where I want to be long-term helps me overcome those "no" moments. Always putting reminders can help too. Writing your goals down and holding yourself accountable. But maybe also look into an accountability partner.
