Like I’m sorry I have literally never not once seen someone stay friends with their ex and it work out. You can’t just have someone like that who you shared so many close experiences with and have it not complicate future relationships.

Personally I consider an ex any previous relationship, and my first relationship in high school was my best friend of two years, and it ended because I had to move across the country, and we still keep in touch and would hang out all the time if we could.
