"I can never remember which is sensitivity and which is specificity. " Glad to know I'm not alone! I can remember false positive/negative easily but not S&S. How do others remember the difference?

This is simplistic, but I use a mnemonic based on the letter P. Specificity contains the letter P, as does the word positive. When specificity is high, false positive rate is low. And then by analogy, when sensitivity is high, false negative rate is low.pic.twitter.com/U1Cpk96aKx

Borderline dangerous #coronavirus work has come early and often from @StanfordMed @StanPopHealth; really need to know if any of it is being driven by donor-advised funds, e.g. from likes of @peterthiel et al. @willCIR @mattdrange @ellenhuet @KYWeise @rachaelmyrow @JohnCarreyrou

I don't see any reason to call it "borderline dangerous". Given the reach of the outlets they've peddled their stuff to and the nature of pandemic illness, it seems quite plausible that they've actually gotten (or will get) some people killed. Nothing borderline about that!

Hope it gets shredded through peer-review. Pre-prints having too much weight in national discussion

I should take 12 hours away from work more often. I had thought about reading this study carefully last night and commenting, but slept instead. When I woke up I found @nataliexdean @trvrb and @jjcherian did most of the work. I agree with all the statistical points of these 3.
