Sounds clever! How much this is affected by the imperfect sensitivity of PCR (or actually, of sampling)? Some papers say it can be down to 60% when using nasopharyngeal swabs.

If half of the tests will give false negatives then at least you get a good lower bound that should be comparable across different locations? The model should allow assessing the overall added uncertainty from this source. Depends on how certain you are about the 60% :-)
