Is email a common way for VCs to screen for investment candidates? I thought the pipeline began with in-person contacts/ referrals from industries/colleges. Is there a white male bias there since they have established networks? Was email a default source for diversity goals?

True, but if you’re on the outside trying to get a meeting, is there really a difference? Plus, culture is established at the top.

I’m a big fan of this research approach. It’s similar to the email-based field experiments used in Global Shell Games: http://www.globalshellgames.com/
