They had time to get their important stuff and the cat, and are halfway down the mountain to Chico. Mom says it’s totally dark. It’s very bad.

Parents and cat arrived safely to Chico… their house may be a loss. Fire is moving so fast that it’s nearly impossible to figure out precise burn boundaries right now. I’m sick to my stomach.

Heard from mom. She’s a wreck. Described driving through flames with propane tanks and pine trees exploding all around. No idea when we’ll know the status of their house and rental properties. They made sure their tenants were evacuated safely. No word from some of their friends.

Mom and Dad are en route to my Auntie’s lake house up in the Sierras, north of Paradise. Just heard about the
#WoolseyFire in Simi Valley. That’s where Auntie lives. You’ve gotta be kidding me.Show this thread -
Folks finally arrived at Auntie’s lakeside cabin — farther north and higher up the mountains from
#ButteCounty and the#CampFire — only to face near-freezing temps and an area-wide power outage. WTF???pic.twitter.com/AlWCaO2fzd

Sorry to hear. Hope all ends well.

Thanks hon. They are safe. They got the photos. They got the cat. So all will be fine. Even if it’s not.

Hoping for the best outcome. xo
