Ha, I can totally see Hank as an Hank (I think I'm really partial to grey bicolored cats - the first pet bond was one such). Are they yours? Love the rug, btw.

They're mine. Hank and Dean are brothers from the Humane Society, Ratty and Pokey are aunt and nephew from the neighborhood stray community.
-
I've found homes for four other kittens from the local population. It's a bit of a difficult situation -- I would have tried to have the matriarch spayed years ago, but I'm afraid she'd be put down instead (for complicated reasons) and I can't bear the idea.
-
Right now I feed three outdoor cats: Little Mama (the matriarch), Mr. Soft Fur and Minnie (her sons). Pokey is her son too, and Ratty is her sister.
-
Minnie is a bit wild. Mr. Soft Fur is a complete sweetheart, loves to be picked up and cuddled. Wish I could do more for him but I don't think he'd adapt to strangers.

I am hosting the neighborhood stray mama and her grown boy in my home until her kittens are old enough to be adopted. I was negligent in not getting her spayed in time. I had to do it because her last litter wasn't socialized enough and it broke my heart.
-
So I relate! I'm grateful my own cats and dogs are being such gracious co-hosts. Also grateful that I don't want to adopt any more right now lol!
-
I wish I could take in Mr. Soft Fur but Pokey was already too much.
