He was heavily influenced by Nietzsche, if I remember correctly? I’ve read only a little of Crowley’s work… do you recall where he made this point?

I don't. Might have been Magick in Theory and Practice. I remember that he used a mathematical analogy that was, v. roughly, "meaning lies in the edges of the graph, not the nodes". Not caffeinated to wade through this atm: http://www.sacred-texts.com/oto/aba/aba.htm
