I believe I in fact do that. I.e., if I read someone saying, e.g., all men are rapists, my skin crawls a little bit. I am not a rapist, but if you need to, say, identify me as part of "rape culture" to examine a larger problem, I get it.

The problem of people being sexually harrassed and assaulted is much worse than my mild discomfort at being associated with rape and harrassment.
