Somehow I got to 2017 without every reading Austian Liberals. I am finding both Rothbard and Hoppe interesting

Rothbard I find interesting, even when I disagree. Hoppe pretty much not, even when we agree.

Rothbard was impressive but had a cultist streak that Hoppe took advantage of: fondness for purges, dubious revisionism and absolutism.

There's two opposing parallel threads running through 20c right-libertarianism: absolutist/rationalist and relativist/postmodern

On the absolutist side you have figures like Rand, Hoppe, Rothbard, back to Aristotle. Pomo side, ppl like Hayek, RAWilson.

I'm sure my mix of Rand, Nietzsche, Aristotle, Hayek and Hume makes sense only to me.

Rand is super absolutist, Hayek and Hume are relativist, Rand would spit on them

Rand's epistemology is a hash. It's her worst area. I tend to borrow her non-realativist spin on Neitzsche's master/slave morality.
