Someone at-ed me this AM before I woke up. 3 purported different articles (food, politics, &c.), 1 suspect URL, all thanking RTP geeks. By the time I get coffee & my laptop & find a standalone URL scanner, it's all gone. @Twitter, thank you. Glad my instincts are still good. :)

F$ck it. I reported the tweets as spam & tagged Twitter support (already). Scanning inconclusive & hard to do well at home with no real tools available. When someone was paying me for this type work, I didn't mind so much. I tried. Prolly just spam anyway.

At 1 old job, I remember the "thrill" of finding new virus variants in our mail queues, reporting them, getting new defs, & having no one notice or give a F$ck if I told them.
-
@ another job, went looking for phishing sites simulating our webmail setup; the thieves were using phished creds to spam TF out of everyone, causing entire business's MX IPs to be blacklisted. Again, either zero or minor negative feedback from mgt.

I'd tell myself I was doing the right thing anyway. Or occasionally someone appreciates it & says so. Or you unf$ck people who don't even know they're f$cked & feel good. You take what you can get, I guess. But now I'm doing it for free & am de-jobbed. Whatever.
