My mom used to work in cancer research; got access to a lot of cutting edge/experimental treatment. Cancer took 20 years to kill her.
Idea is you find a virus that can infect and kill the bacteria that are killing you. They can't infect human cells bc they're too different.

It has a good track record going back decades, it's just a lot harder to use and less reliable than antibiotics USED to be.

But it's a completely different mechanism from antibiotic treatment so it works just as well on antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

Oh, er. Yeah, phage therapy only works on bacterial infections, not cancer. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
