I thought roughly everyone could see through attribution-shellgame lowres motivated reasoning stuff. That people do it because it's hard to convincingly reject it concisely, and "everybody does it". Is it actually the case that most people *can't see framing games*?

I think heuristic generation is something everyone does to some degree, but it's cognitively demanding and people look for opportunities to offload the job, particularly with respect to matters that don't affect them personally (ie that they know nothing about).
