it's a pain to clean but not vastly. Bit of a pain to dry & store. I hate non-stick sheets because they scratch easily. Silpat: meh.

also I've seen people using knives to cut things on a silpat. Bad idea.

it still gets dirty but it doesn't stick to your actual bread or whatever as much as foil or the pan itself

my silpat has a mesh (fiberglass?) inside. Baked goods don't stick to it. Put it in sink & use brush (or bare hands) & soap: meh.
