Ah, shit. Some Nazi asshole stumbled on the idea of "right-wing intersectionality".
I'm just a country representation theorist, I don't truck with that fancy Grothendieck stuff

I never really understood rep theory. I squeaked through Serre's monograph and vowed to never look back.
-
My dissertation was hardcore modular representation theory (finite groups in characteristic p).
-
Used a lot of homological algebra but on an as-needed basis, not for its own sake.
-
I was algebraic geometry. Homological algebra is just bookkeeping, at least to me. But finite fields are important for A.G.
-
Also char. p is also very important, e.g. work of Mori. You can do geometry with in any ring. But I think rep. theory more useful.
-
I studied a lot of algebraic geometry (self-study and graduate courses) and very little of it stuck.

I did Functional Analysis/pdes in undegrad. I though that's what real men did. Then I went to grad school and forgot C* algebras
