if it's (1) such good thickener (2) cheap but slow to produce from scratch, why can't you buy jars of pasta water for use in other recipes?

@St_Rev like surely there are companies already manufacturing cooked pasta products just throwing it away? -
@St_Rev in general industrial food has done a good job of selling byproduct (e.g. pet food) so maybe I'm missing something. -
@amelapay I dunno! Maybe they boil it and that's where 'modified food starch' comes from? Removing water takes lots of energy though. - 1 more reply
