Am I “Kind Of New-Age-y, Better At Math Than Usual For That Demographic, Angrily Denying Being New-Age-y If Asked”? http://slatestarcodex.com/2015/01/21/these-are-a-few-more-of-my-least-favorite-things/ …
@Meaningness I was a slacker, a shirker, a mucker-about, and a disappointment to everyone.

@Meaningness I actually switched majors to math the week before I graduated from Chicago, because I failed at physics (and planning). -
@St_Rev I’m sorry… did that seem like an important missed opportunity at the time, or only in retrospect, or not at all? -
@Meaningness Not at all. Mom decided years in advance I would do physics. She was crazy & I mostly went along so she wouldn't kill herself. -
@St_Rev Yucch… my Mom wanted us to be biologists; my Dad, philosophers. (Though neither would have said that.) -
@St_Rev I split the difference by going into AI (closer to Dad, I guess); my sister was a neuroscientist (closer to Mom).
