@A_P_Mason No, but there are confusions/misreadings thereof underlying Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, some of the critical theorists etc. -
@A_P_Mason Most religious systems promise one sort of immortality or another, but only Daoism suggests immortality via not dying. -
@A_P_Mason That confounds a lot of basic assumptions common in the European tradition, but it's not pessimistic. -
@A_P_Mason The connection to Gnon is that Gnon is about cosmos-as-process, but it's a very negative version. Cosmos as devourer. -
@A_P_Mason IMO Daoism is the earliest and in many ways clearest take on the same theme. -
@A_P_Mason I think there's a sense of betrayal motivating the gleeful nihilism/post-nihilism; cosmos isn't what we wanted, so it's Evil. -
