Scientists making philosophical pronouncements in areas they are unqualified gives aid & comfort to woomeisters. (How can this be avoided?)
@Meaningness To avoid this, we'd have to find people qualified to make philosophical pronouncements. I don't think there are any.

@St_Rev The value of philosophy is that, I think—lots of “yeah but that doesn’t work, because…” knowledge. -
@Meaningness true. "This doesn't work" knowledge is waay easier than "this does work" knowledge. -

@St_Rev If I had to teach philosophy, it would be “Why 2500 years of Western thought is all wrong (and we have no better ideas).” -
