@St_Rev The hard part is explaining what’s wrong so the audience will get it, emotionally. The cognitive errors will get explained away else -
@Meaningness That's why I'd suggest concrete examples. e.g. Taleb uses the Thanksgiving turkey to illustrate problems with induction. -
@St_Rev Yes, definitely. That stuff is a lot of work, though!

@St_Rev Yudkowsky’s “Bayesian enlightenment” piece is beautifully eternalistic. He’s FINALLY SEEN THE ULTIMATE TRUTH OF EXISTENCE!!! -
@Meaningness He has the semidelusional confidence that seems to be associated with successful, dominant males. Creepy but not Bayes' fault. -
@St_Rev Sure. But there’s a million cults in the world, and I gave LW a 2 on my Memetic Threat Assessment Scale… Eckhart Tolle gets an 8... -
@Meaningness Downside vs. upside. e.g. some of the Metamed group are extremely smart and ambitious, might do great things. -
@St_Rev Yes; that there *is* a lot of potential in the group is part of why I’m motivated to shift them.
