@Meaningness I used Jon Carlson's special dedicated workstation which had FOUR WHOLE GIGS of ram.

@St_Rev Hey, I did my dissertation on a state-of-the-art custom workstation that had A WHOLE MEGABYTE!!! Which cost $75k.

@St_Rev An odd moment when I realized my phone had almost exactly 1000x the RAM and Hz of the $10m time-shared behemoth I used in 1978.

@Meaningness I could make amazing progress on my research on a modern system if a) I remembered any of it and b) I cared any more.
