Yes, but what's the price of political participation? We both think it has harms, and we both think doing so invites reprisal. I don't think voice can be argued to be free from reprisal if it's public. Exit should be, even though it's not. If so, it's just a question of threshold
I'm not trying to be argumentative, but I genuinely think participating in voice indicates consequence, and I think it should. Doing so is trying to control someone else's behavior. But how do we make sure the consequence is commensurate with the level of voice?
Or, shall we say, is it even our problem? I dislike political activism for the reason it removes other people's option to govern themselves, but the atmosphere is tending toward more violence and I'm not sure that can be stopped. Safe behavior is withdrawal
