Well, acceleration is a concrete ideological stance, and there are people who explicitly hold it. I even know some of them! That's the 'they' in this case.

Polarization means more people are willing to stake out extreme positions, sure. That's close to the definition of polarization. But accelerationism is something specific, and even has explicit left- and right-wing factions.

What's your take on the accelerationism?

My take is it doesn't matter what I think. I'm sympathetic to the urge to fast-forward through the boring/cringe parts of modern life, but I think taking action of any kind is immoral.
