What's interesting to me about Vice [Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of] is that they used to sell honest transgressive titillation and now they're selling transgressive, titillating condemnations of transgressive titillation.https://archive.is/ge9Jv

Readers get to wallow in the horror, but now Vice also serves up important religious services: reasons to stop thinking, affirming the righteousness of ingroup and evil of outgroup. But it's unclear what role misogyny played when the guy killed more men than women!

To be fair, he had a history of hating women, so they're not far from the truth.
-
He had a history of being a terrible person. But he killed five men and four women. The 'incel' charge (apparently via Vice, which is a worthless propaganda site) is a comforting way to shut down discussion and thought, but doesn't seem to me to explain much.
-
I'm reminded of Elliot Rodger, who definitely hated women but killed twice as many men.

All they really needed to do was point out his white complexion.

I think hammering on 'white' would threaten antifa's image in a way 'incel' doesn't.
-
Yeah. The incel angle is effective and more insidious. I simply assume the laziest, least-amount-of-thinking-possible approach from these people.

Maybe he convinced himself if he couldn't have any, sis should die for putting out.
-
I agree, there's something there. Imo, killing his sis is the most significant detail.
