A really noxious manifestation of this: A and B are arguing. B searches A's Twitter stream for some keywords that *aren't even related to the argument*, like "camp" or "Trump". Doesn't find them. B triumphantly presents the lack of keywords as evidence of A's moral failure.

On one level this is just church-lady bloodymindedness. But on a memetic/egregoric level I can see the keywords themselves dripping with spores, lashing out blindly to infect new hosts.
