'Whiteness' discourse is a conspiracy theory, a weird echo of classic antisemitism -- weird in that it's directed at a majority, rather than a market-dominant minority like the Jews, Han or Igbo. It seems unstable in the long term -- and all potential resolutions are terrifying.https://twitter.com/SelinaDavis73/status/1128850448918573056 …

Interesting that your African example is Igbo and not Tutsi who “just” had a genocide attempted against them. Is it because they used to be (and now are, again) too politically powerful for a “classical” MDM?

My very limited understanding is that Tutsi aren't as clear-cut an example of a MDM. I do like to compare Radio Télévision Libre des Mille Collines to certain modern podcasts, though.

I think the Tutsi were less cosmopolitan traders and more hereditary rulers. But my knowledge is very very shallow.

I have no idea if anti-Tutsi propaganda drew on antisemitic propaganda to any real degree, whereas modern Whiteness discourse definitely does.

Isn’t that too Euro-centric? Anti-MDM sentiments seem to trade in precious few tropes overall, e.g. anti-chinese riots in SEA…

I mean the weird, unique thing about anti-whiteness is that all the masters of th genre are white (“no, no, we meant those other whites!”). It must be frustrating for people like Blow to be a mere echo in the h8yt biz.

Already said my knowledge is limited, twice. Dunno what you want here.
