Cat crawls behind TV, loudly begins to munch on important cords, then resists with all his might while purring when I try to drag him out by the nape. Immediately continues on and starts munching on a metal rod
There are also bittering sprays that taste terrible. May be more effective on dogs, not sure.

I'm reluctant to put bitterants on things I handle regularly, but my wife has suggested I do so several times. Probably won't be able to avoid doing it if they ever destroy another cord

my experience with those is mixed, mainly because it means you end up with sticky/chalky films all over your stuff, and have to reapply them, and they don't work on all cats/etc. definitely easier than comprehensive cable management tho
