She fed the neighborhood strays, we talked about them a few times. Not sure what happened to her. Her son comes by to mow the lawn but the house itself is falling into disrepair. Anyway, there's a tow truck in the driveway. One of the windows has been down for at least 6 months.

I think the kitten was born in that truck, and she's been nesting in it since. It's not super warm but it's dry and protected from wind, dogs and raccoons. I occasionally walk across the street to check in on her and say hello. So I did that a few minutes ago.

I went back in the house, and shortly afterward the owner pulls up and goes to check on his truck. I'm guessing a neighbor spotted a strange individual messing with it and called him. I came over, introduced myself, told him about the kitten. The end.
