I support a (low) UBI. Most of the rest of the GND is Year Zero death-worship. Naturally, the UBI bit is the part everyone's attacking.

Yeah, 400-500. Set out my reasoning in this thread: https://twitter.com/St_Rev/status/737895292205420546 … tl;dr: Bare minimum necessary to not starve or have to sleep under a bridge, but no clawbacks or other bureaucratic fuckery either.

well, i mean, a moderately able person with a modicum of agency would have to try to starve in the US. but rents are quite expensive in a lot of places. in one of the blighted areas where i grew up studios apartments are ~$800. what about disableds? would they get more?

Addressed in the thread https://twitter.com/St_Rev/status/737901092206465028 … You'd have to keep disability but could dissolve food stamps and a lot of other programs

Cost of living I'm less sympathetic to. Nobody should be subsidized to live in NYC. People just plain refusing to work shouldn't starve but they better tolerate living four to a studio. Flophouses used to be an important source of shelter, they can be one again.
