Really feels like another line has been crossed

this, and btw I also kind of hate that I've had to back off endorsing the end of "whiteness" bc it's ambiguously eliminationist when I want an end to is white *exceptionalism* (and implicitly if the concept "white" can't exist without it then it goes too).
-
now it feels like that idea of what anti-racism is has been shoved aside in favor of some kind of concept of communal payback-time. it's a depressing regression.
-
Shoved aside because we, for most practical purposes, achieved MLK's dream - and people discovered that "equality" didn't magically redistribute the fruits of productivity. If you & your kind value productivity for generations, your offspring start out & continue ahead of others.
-
Failing to magically catch up, people are now lashing out at those who valued & taught productivity, imputing "they must have cheated us" and seek to destroy the more productive instead of produce.
-
yeah, see, that's a fair summary of the implicit ideology of the faction that *thinks* its sentiments and my politics are at all compatible. and I've been saying for years they're categorically wrong and being less than perfectly loud, clear and unequivocal on that is a mistake.
-
but intellectuals always think the resentment is an energy they can channel to their ends bc they're naive, arrogant and stupid. or, unprincipled careerists and think *mostly correctly* that they can ride to power on its back. both types exist.
-
in fact imo a huge underappreciated part of the reason anti-racism in the US is the shitshow it is now is "intellectuals", i.e. institutional academia, got the lock on it. intercommunal resentment as ladder to power. Moldbug picked up that ball bc everyone else was dropping it.
