Egregores are composed of, *run on*, multiple human brains, potentially millions of them, but they are (usually) far less complex, *lower-dimensional*, than humans. It's a bandwidth issue: an egregore doesn't only rely on language for transmission, but for all of its cognition.

Would group ceremony/ritual, sex magick, designated places of worship, and other means of tying more senses and emotional communication into a belief have the effect of increasing the egregore's complexity beyond language alone? Or does that give mass-intuition too much credit

Probably, religions are egregores and they love that crap. One of the first things an egregore has to do is recognize what hosts it owns. Having a gathering place and a symbolic vocabulary saves making its hosts chant

This is all using 'egregore' in my idiosyncratic postrat sense. Classical egregores are a lot more ritual-based but that kind overlaps more with the Holy Guardian Angel, and with what the kids these days call tulpas.

I've contacted my Holy Guardian Angel but it was kind of accidental and I couldn't teach anyone else to do it.

Fascinating. What were the circumstances, if you don't mind my asking?
