I turned off "show best tweets first" in timeline, figuring twitter was only showing me the angry tweets. turns out, they're *all* angry tweets. now I'm just seeing the less well-written angry tweets.

What worked for me was to both turn off ranking and to unfollow the anger-mongers. At first I just unfollowed the anger-mongers and nothing happened, because the algo still showed “X liked <angry tweet>” injections.

well, I've done the first part; but if I do the second, do I have to unfollow myself?

in all seriousness though, I'm kind of torn... a lot of the outrage in my timeline is about important things, and seems justified. I'm sure I could make a lot of it disappear by unfollowing ~100 people, but I worry that I'd be effectively burying my head in the sand

St. Rev ☯️ 🏴 😻 @St_RevOK fixed version: 1) Turn off quality filter in 'notifications' 2) Turn off 'show best tweets first' in 'account' under the 'content' subheading 3) Respond to 'So-and-so liked' with 'I don't like this' 4) Respond to 'In case you missed it' with 'See less often'. I miss anything? https://twitter.com/St_Rev/status/1037552084084776960 …2 replies 0 retweets 1 like
There's a better/simpler way to make 'so-and-so liked' and 'in case you missed it' go away now. Under settings/muted words, permanently mute the following: suggest_activity_tweet suggest_recycled_tweet_inline
