Reading a random Twitter thread and a stranger makes a casual indirect reference to one of my favorite cats (he was Tuckerized into a popular fantasy series). Mister died 15 years ago. Pretty bummed now.

I also have to memorialize Mr. Soft Fur, I guess. I don't know what happened to him, but I haven't seen him in six weeks and doubt I'll see him again.pic.twitter.com/lRP4bFyiRk

I've been feeding and looking after strays for years now. Mr. Soft Fur was the sweetest, gentlest stray of them all. Strange thing is I didn't have a chance to socialize him until he was maybe eight months old. He kept his distance quietly, and then one day he let me pet him.

I too feed ferals - I have 3 indoor cats that are ex-strays. The latest is a huge 30+ lb tom that was the terror of the neighborhood, and decided he likes pillows and cuddling better. I guess losing his testicles was a fair trade for him ;-)

I have four cats, two from the Humane Society and two from the street, part of the same extended family as Mr. Soft Fur. I've fostered and found homes for four more.
