Yep. I think this report doesn't count suicides but it makes lots of other weird mistakes.

I think it does. Unadjusted US homicide rate is about 5/100k. Only maybe half are done with a firearm.

Well, now I don't know. Best numbers I can find say 11,000 murders by firearm in 2017. That's 3.4/100k. So I have no idea where NPR is getting their numbers!
