Good thread. Note, though, that when the typical person says "I'm 1/8 black" (or whatever) they precisely mean "One of my 3rd-generation ancestors was black", not "12.5% of my DNA is of African origin". But yes, it's good to correct the notion that 1/64 NA means 1/64 NA DNA.

Yeah, at some point a 1/2^n ancestor is likely to give you much more than 1/2^n or nothing at all.
