People are being stupid and ignorant about Elizabeth Warrn. Her test results are entirely consistent with her family story. tl;dr: She wasn't lying. It happens. For relevant scientific background, consult @razibkhan's TL today.

Not that I particularly care, but my assumption has always been that she had some NA ancestry, so having genetic proof of that doesn't change much. I've also assumed (perhaps wrongly?) that everyone else assumed the same.

I don't think most people are that smart, and there's an obvious flurry of goalpost-moving going on. (eg: everyone who read '6 to 10' and immediately turned into HUH HUH HUH 1/1024, fuck these people as much as the ones who turned 2%-41% into 2-10% into 2-8% into 'never')

The 41% number came from assuming that every single case where there was no corroborating evidence was a lie.

And 2% is lower than what you get by assuming that every single case not explicitly proven false is true.

I don't even know wtf the 2% comes from. AFIAK It's just made up, rather than distorted data.
