There were some obvious problems with the "Grievance Studies" effort, but a lot of the defensive reactions remind me of corporate PR flacks shrugging off and/or counterattacking freelance infosec reports.

It's a lot more than that. When you publish a chapter from Mein Kampf, just replacing "jews" with "cis hetero men", that isn't gobbledygook, it's hate. When reviewers applaud putting students in chains and humiliating them, that's not "nonsense", it's bigotry. This is the story.
