My understanding of the GPL is that it’s no one’s... neither the creator’s nor the user’s. Once in the wild, it must stay that way. No one can take that ball and go home.

It seems to me that "real programmers are maximally obnoxious and insulting" is as tribally conformant a view as anything supported by a CoC. The idea of Coding Culture as ideally neutral is meaningless.
