Something I never see mentioned in discussions of inheritances/inheritance taxes is that they're not a matter of justice for the heirs. They're justice for the *estate holder*. People want to protect and provide for their descendants. It is deeply unjust to forbid that to them.
Without getting into the morality of redistribution in general, I'm seeing more and more demands for 100% estate taxes, total abolition of inheritance, as if there are no possible countervailing interests.
