I don't think beyond a reasonable doubt is a reasonable standard for someone interviewing for a job that lasts until they drop dead/possibly retire.

There's also the incentive structure; if all it takes is one person, from any point in one's past, with no evidence and almost no details, then that's what we're going to get every time this happens, forever. Everyone on the planet has someone who holds white-hot hate for them.

This is a problem. The fact that rape and assault are almost always going to be hard to prove is horrible for victims and the falsely accused. I don't know how that's ever going to change.
