Managing crime is a problem where both false positives and false negatives are prominent and severe subproblems. When someone seeks to outrage you over one type of error, consider whether their implied solution would make the other type of error worse.

Ahh, ok, I get you. And increasingly share your anarcho-cynicism. When I think of frictionless reforms, I think of things like bail reform, crackdown on qualified immunity, reduction in criminal laws, end to the drug war, shifting enforcement to white collar crime, etc.

The War On Some Drugs is a terrible evil that never should have happened, also if you free all the drug prisoners you're going to free a bunch of murderers who got grassed on drug charges because that's how the system evolved. Everything is rotten and hopeless.
