The fishiest thing about that op-ed is the way it presents Trump foolishly doing X and his minions then busily but secretly doing not-X as damage control. The reason this is fishy is because it's an explicit feature of Trump's management style, not a secret and not a failure!

Given that state of affairs, which has been clear for a while to anyone not panicking over the apocalypse, it seems pretty clear that the op-ed is disinformation. Either it's Trump baiting the press again, or it's some other faction telling them what they want to hear.

So, a deliberate creative-chaos management style. Interesting.

He literally showed how to do it on national television for years.

There are few things I ignore more completely than reality TV. This despite having paid reasonable attention to Trump since my first interaction withn him in 1989-90.

I haven't had a television since the early 90s. But come on.

Have you actually watched an episode of Celebrity Apprentice? I certainly haven't.

Nope. I know the format is 'give a bunch of people a task, loudly fire one of them for failure'.

Tried, tested, broadly applicable. But don't conflate successful tv with successful management.

It's been a theme of his presidency. You have to read past the screeching and fainting spells to see it, though -- the press has consistently presented firings/resignations as disasters, rather than part of the process.
