Zulus coming along and asserting ancestral rights to the land against Boers is somewhat like Han Chinese coming into Vancouver and asserting ancestral rights to the land against white Canadians. Which will probably happen sooner or later, come to think of it.

Not to say the Zulu don't have legitimate grievances. But it's odd seeing the leftist version of blood-and-soil nationalism being deployed when European and Bantu peoples are both invaders, and the Europeans arrived first.

It's like the Sioux asserting ancestral rights to the lands that they invaded & genocided the native tribes of in the early 1800s just before they picked a fight with the US.

Something like that, except at least the Sioux were related to the other tribes. Bantu and Khoi-San are more distant genetically than Bantu and Europeans are! It's a case where the American word 'black' obscures more than it reveals.
