Really bad design for a bed. Platform bed: only a mattress. You’ve got to either sit on or avoid (I avoid) those stupid wooden projections on either side of the head end. Maybe they’re meant to stop one from rolling out of bed? Just poor design. I wonder where they got the idea.

It might... let’s see... it’s in fact a Murphy bed sort of thing that reveals a couch once it goes vertical. Now, why didn’t I figure that out, especially given the little apparently-useless table at the foot of the bed? Fatigue? Closed mind? Bit of both.

Easily-removable headboard cushions are the couch’s back cushions, duh. Must learn not to shout “bad design!” automatically. Though it’s a compromise both as a bed and as a couch, and the room is big for an English hotel (full kitchenette).
