    Thank you @actfl19. I have to leave early tomorrow morning, but feel I found my tribe. I am going back to school more connected, invigorated, purposeful and engaged. My number 1 take away: Does whatever I am doing enhance proficiency? if not, get rid of it. Actfl minimalism

    INput = INdispensable Talking *about* the language and not *in* the language isn't input. Explaining a grammatical role in the L1 isn't input. ^^ Things is reminding me that I wish someone had told me my first year (read: five years) teaching.

    This may have been the most powerful keynote I’ve ever listened to. took me to church this morning, showed me teaching to the heart is more important than teaching to the head! It isn’t “Foreign Language” it’s “Previously Unintroduced Language”

    If you tried speaking the language you are learning and it was a frustrating experience, I have good news! The more input you get, the easier it will become, and the better native speakers will react. Introverts can learn languages too!
