    We switched to CI across our whole district. Even in 1st yr class the kind of lang goals when teaching content across the 3 domains are closer to NH-IL CPIs. This year we have nearly 100 Ss who will earn the Seal of Biliteracy (= int high) that's 3x more than before CI !

    Love using these stories from Eric Herman's book "Assessing Spanish Proficiency with Stories". The stories are quick to read, but RECYCLE so much high-frequency words that students WILL acquire vocab!!

    A3: High anxiety=High affective filter. When sts realize they can make mistakes, still be understood and keep going/improving they will learn resilience/how to take risks. Practice w/o penalty means they are allowed to learn from mistakes, not be penalized for them.
