Prop 47 made that theft a misdemeanor even if the suspect had numerous prior arrests and convictions. At most he would receive a ticket and the da would drop the charges.

You’re right. The voters enabled this through bad legislation that needs to be amended or repealed. And most importantly — the DA needs to start prosecuting!
