There has been no mass incarceration in san francisco for decades. SF sends the fewest convicted criminals to state prison just behind little Alpine county.

Because the SFPD can't do their job and bring cases to the DA. When asked, the SFPD can't produce records of cases the DA has declined to prosecute. The SFPD simply does not do their job and blames successive DAs starting from Arlo Smith when I arrived here in the 1980s.

The data dashboard on the DAs website says the overall filing rate for Chesa’s office is 47%. which is a decline from previous years. The cases are coming but the DAs office is literally more likely to do nothing than to file charges in a case.

Boudin probably gave the cases greater scrutiny while the cops have been particularly lazy and sloppy.

I understand you can't speak ill of your comrade but there is absolutely no viable reason that he declines charges on multiple cases. He has even transferred adas or fired them id they are filing too many cases. Also the office has da investigators who can investigate more

You're type has been dissatisfied with every DA and given the cops every manner of pass. You lose election after election because San Francisco voters and juries have different ideas than you do about criminal justice.

I worked with the homeless and courts for nearly 30 years and have seen how horrible gascon and boudin are. Their policies are leading to crime, victims and death.

The real consequences are due to economic changes in the US and SF over the past 20 years are what's changed, not the approach of prosecutors or laziness of cops. The final enclosure of the exurbs moved homeless from rail junctions, hobo jungles, into the cities. SF don't freeze.

Negative. The lack of consequences across the board has lead to rampant theft, addiction, drug dealing, violence. 80% of businesses are closed.. People staying indoors yet crime is up in just about every category. Nobody fears punishment so sf is the place to come
