The problem is when they give a bonus one time we're all spoiled. The $1 a pack is the standard deal we are used to. I think they're doing other stuff that makes this cool. And the ability to order both bundles is awesome

I wouldn't say "spoiled" but I get what you're saying. With 70 packs for $50, it's my opinion that the price point per pack was better. I don't think one pack's potential value is worth a buck. And it is cool that they're trying new things.

Well I mean the price per pack was obviously better. Lol but that's the problem with doing things like that. Same thing with better quests

I’m with you Spivey but one thing to consider is that each pre order also comes with a golden legendary. So it’s essentially equating one golden legendary to 20 packs. Which from a pure dust standpoint isn’t horrific... but it doesn’t feel good.

Yeah, I spaced the golden legendary and that increases the value a little. Although, we're "losing" the free random legendary that we're used to. Also, we've recieved free heroes before like Maiev and Lunara, but not this time, it seems.

We're not losing the free random legendary. They're still giving everyone that and three free packs on login.

And as for the hero portrait, they've only ever just given one for free with the first set of the year; Maiev's is a Year of the Mammoth gift and Lunara is for Year of the Raven.

Jaraxxus, and all heroes, should still be offered in the store for ten bucks like Magni and Alleria. Even if it's a timed exclusive before they allow it to be purchased. I wouldn't have my feelings hurt if Nemsy or Tyrande were offered in the store.

That said, for those of us who are going to be inclined to put more than $50 into the game, it makes sense for them to give us more opportunities to give them money. But that goes both for offering the bundle and then letting us just pay them for the portraits a la carte.

The other thing that occurred to me in the middle of a train of thought while recording Off Curve is also that the golden legendary is effectively a ticket for one non-golden legendary of your choice, which is a pretty big jump from the last set. That's probably worth 20 packs.

Yep. I've always said I'd pay twenty bucks for a regular legendary of my choice, so that's a good deal.

I think this comes down to messaging and communication (as usual). All they had to do was say, "And hey, if you don't like that golden legendary you can dust it for one that you really want!" Which we all know but you don't think of it that way when you're just comparing bundles.

Like, I think you're completely justified in having the initial reaction you did, because they didn't do a good job of explaining how what's in the new $50 is around as good as in the Witchwood $50 bundle.
