Affirmative care has become the dominant model, even though top clinicians such as Jack Drescher state the evidence for affirmation is poor. https://www.kqed.org/futureofyou/440851/can-you-really-know-that-a-3-year-old-is-transgender …pic.twitter.com/pi2yGjgMDQ

And the evidence that detransitioning is a bad as all this is even more lacking. If detransitioning at 12 is bad... then forcing transkids to wait to transition has exactly the same bad effect. The anti-trans bias is so thick one needs a knife rather than a spoon.

Except that medical transition sterilises people and the Hippocratic oath is to first do no harm

Doctors do NOT swear by the Hippocratic oath as it requires that they NOT use a scalpel. Sterilizing people to treat illness is common, or even just because they don't want children. This is BS of the highest order.https://gizmodo.com/doctors-aren-t-actually-bound-by-the-hippocratic-oath-1465044222 …

It’s lack of a scientific way of telling in advance who the scalpel will help and who it will harm that is the problem

But we're not talking about pre-teens getting gender reassignment surgery. We're not even talking about anyone under 18 getting surgery. After that, if someone's gone through what experts have recommended - it's their choice.

At risk of "Dr Cheryl" tagging Twitter Support into the thread, in the US, under 18s DO get gender surgeries. Not a secret. And gender docs agitate for no minimum age for such surgeries. Jazz Jennings (age 17) is slated for "bottom surgery" this month.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MO-RkaVMHnQ …

Activists will assert that minors AREN'T getting surgeries in one argument. Then when they're arguing about age-restricted youtube videos, they say that teens need surgery info because they ARE getting surgeries.pic.twitter.com/nmRFzD1C27

It's true misogyny that has turned mastectomy into a no-big-deal procedure. Cutting off breasts should be considered just as dramatic and invasive as genital surgery.

Absolutely. And calling it “top surgery” is designed to minimise. Also why ppl get called into the police for calling castration “castration”.

From age of 11 until 30, I hated my breasts. I wanted them removed, but luckily elective "top surgery" wasn't a thing when I grew up. I couldn't imagine then that I would grow up to have a baby, who was so very much in love with the breasts I once hated.

The new crop of straight girls who believe they are "gay men" are the ones most likely to want to reproduce/breastfeed in the future. That gender docs are enabling irreversible surgeries on impulsive young teenagers will likely be recorded in the history books as a major scandal.

there's just so many contradictions in transideology. TRA's are getting lazy because they know that no-one in power will stand up to them for fear of being labelled "transphobic" or losing their position over it

Chase realized he was "trans" after watching Youtube when "he" was 15. It also coincided with the birth of his fathers new daughter from a second marriage. Chase was raised solely by Dad after Mom abandoned them. He denies that this has anything to do with his "trans" identity.

Chase has an audience of mostly children. His viewers bemoan the fact that their Mom will not allow them to start hormones or cut their hair short. Rarely does he discuss negative side effects and even then it is never really all that bad. The kids buy it hook line and sinker.
